Overview

Auko Glamping was shaped not by blueprint, but by the contours of the land itself. Set against the surreal backdrop of Phong Nha’s limestone mountains and the winding Son River, this is where nature shapes the narrative, not the other way around.

Tucked within a natural hollow at the edge of Phong Nha’s world heritage terrain, Auko - Phong Nha Glamping offers a rare kind of retreat—one that doesn’t seek to conquer the landscape, but rather coexist with it. Its 31 elevated tents are positioned at varying heights, designed to mirror the rhythm of the forest and adapt to the floods that visit each year. Even in moments of high water, the resort holds its breath and rises gently, thanks to an innovative floating tent solution that blends engineering with environmental empathy.

Developed by Van Phu Investment, the project resists the usual resort playbook in favor of something far more grounded—both in philosophy and place. In collaboration with CDA, the vision of Auko was brought to life through an identity system that mirrors its essence: subtle, intentional, and deeply rooted in its surroundings. There are no heavy footprints, no concrete scars—just a quiet elegance built on light touch and long-term thinking. Every element, from structure to symbol, reflects the belief that true luxury doesn’t overwhelm—it invites. Auko is less about escaping into nature, and more about returning to it. It stands as both sanctuary and starting point—a launchpad for discovery, a pause from the noise, and a commitment to sustainability that runs deeper than trend

OPPORTUNITY

The design approach for Auko Glamping draws inspiration from the surrounding terrain, developing a circular visual system that embraces and protects. Built on three layers—mountains, tents, and the central core—the concept symbolizes continuity and balance. It reflects nature’s gentle act of sheltering people, while people, in turn, nurture and safeguard nature. The circular form also conveys unity, inclusivity, and the rhythm of shared experiences, making it a powerful emblem for Auko’s harmonious glamping philosophy.

LOGO DESIGN

Design inspired by nature’s eternal embrace and flow

The Auko Glamping logo embodies the spirit of harmony between humans and nature through its circular form. Inspired by the embracing layers of Phong Nha’s landscape, the design symbolizes protection, balance, and continuity. The spiral within the letter “a” evokes the nurturing arms of Âu Cơ, the flow of rivers, and ancient patterns, all converging into a visual mark that feels both timeless and contemporary. It reflects nature’s act of sheltering people, while highlighting Auko’s mission to honor and protect the environment.

COLOR SYSTEM

A natural color system reflecting Phong Nha’s soulful landscape

The color system of Auko Glamping is deeply rooted in the natural beauty of Phong Nha, capturing the essence of its diverse landscape. Each shade tells a story: the deep green of the forest, the cool blue of the rivers, the golden warmth of the earth, the timeless grey of limestone, the soft ivory of purity, and the grounding depth of charcoal black. Together, these tones form a balanced palette that feels both authentic and harmonious. They not only enhance brand recognition but also embody Auko’s philosophy of living gently within nature’s protective embrace.

TYPOGRAPHIC SYSTEM

Shaped by nature, elegant in every line

Like the logo symbol, the brand’s distinctive typeface is crafted with lines that evoke the image of rivers winding around mountains or the mysterious patterns of stalactites within caves. Graceful and refined, yet imbued with a bold personality, the curves contrast harmoniously with solid structures, forming a modern, elegant, and sophisticated whole. Inspired by the unusual forms of Florentine Old Style (1894), combined with the wide proportions of its letters and the classical influence of Roman Capitals, the typeface conveys timeless artistry. This unique blend reflects Auko’s philosophy—bridging tradition with contemporary aesthetics, and natural flow with enduring strength.

CHARACTER STRUCTURE

The letterforms are shaped around a consistent principle: a striking contrast between sturdy straight lines and graceful curves. This balance creates not only harmony but also a sense of strength and modernity, combined with fluidity and refinement across the entire typeface system. Beyond its aesthetic elegance, this interplay of opposites symbolizes the coexistence of nature’s raw power and its gentle rhythms, echoing Auko’s vision of uniting resilience with grace. The result is a typeface that feels timeless, versatile, and deeply connected to its cultural and environmental inspirations.

Letters such as ‘k’, ‘a’, and ‘g’ draw inspiration from the main visual motif system centered around circular symbols, expressed vividly through the smooth and fluid looped strokes of each character. The serifs are designed with a gentle flare at the beginning and end of each stroke, evoking the graceful flow of water and the rustic, free-spirited charm of handwritten script. The typeface harmoniously blends the most captivating qualities of both Serif and Sans-Serif styles, conveying a sense of classic elegance while remaining modern and approachable.

VISUAL MOTIF

Embrace by nature

The central visual motif revolves around the symbol of the “Embracing Circle,” derived from the strokes of the logo itself. This motif acts as the core visual element, guiding the entire identity system while telling the brand’s story beyond the logo.

By echoing the natural rhythm of curves and layers, the Embracing Circle reflects the harmony between humans and nature, symbolizing both protection and balance. It provides flexibility to adapt across applications from packaging to signage, print to digital while ensuring consistency and recognition. More than just a decorative form, it is a narrative device that communicates Auko’s philosophy: a place where nature embraces people, and people, in turn, embrace and protect nature.

The icon set and illustration style across applications will be derived from the strokes of the logo. With a refined hand-drawn contour line approach, the style conveys a sense of craftsmanship while maintaining elegance, portraying nature at a symbolic level.
